"My greatest blessing came when I was adopted."

Sara Elizabeth Neal Crutcher believes her greatest blessing came at just six weeks old in Greensboro, NC, when she was adopted into a loving and supportive family. At five years old, Sara recalls sitting down with her parents to explain her adoption. Although at the time she did not fully understand what adoption meant; she was reassured that she was heart picked and surrounded by unconditional love.

Many questions still arise about her adoption such as who her birth family are and why they chose to place her up for adoption. Sara hopes her book Heart Picked: Elizabeth's Adoption Tale, will help young girls and their families have a positive and confident outlook towards being adopted. This book also serves as a way for Sara to have open conversations about adoption as a way of healing.
